Schick AE provides a theoretical resolution of 33 lp/mm and a 15 μm pixel size. In combination with dedicated filters and the enhanced dynamic range, supporting consistent image quality, you get superior X-rays to support your diagnosis.

Robust design and security of investment

Premium materials, high-standard production processes and a durable design equipped with an ultrasonically welded sensor can, a coated cable and an additional replacement cable, have been engineered and tested to withstand years of regular daily use ensuring a long product life cycle.

Enhanced dynamic range

Increased sensor sensitivity and an enhanced low-dose optimized exposure spectrum allow for optimal visibility and diagnostics at reduced exposure. Underexposed images are successfully counterbalanced, granting consistent image quality and dose flexibility.

Your own system on your own terms

The use of Schick AE sensors in combination with the new USB 3 interface allows for accelerated information read-out and optimized data transfer. Protected connection plugs provide additional durability in daily practice use.  

Three sensor sizes

Schick AE sensors are available in three different sizes:

  • Size 2: Adult bitewing and single tooth images
  • Size 1: Single tooth images for smaller adults, patients with a shallow palate and bitewings for larger children
  • Size 0: Pediatric images

In-office replaceable cable

The Schick AE sensor offers me excellent image quality. I get a solid basis for a safe and accurate diagnosis of my patients, even in lower X-ray dose ranges. Handling digital X-ray images with the Schick AE sensor is also extremely simple. FAQ

From a technical point of view, Schick 33 sensors are compatible with the new Schick AE USB interface. However, you will first need to exchange the Schick 33 cable with the new grey Schick AE cable for the two hardware components to connect.

The technical data is the same, because Schick AE is built on the proven platform of Schick 33. Schick AE also has a pixel size of 15μm and, hence, the resolution is identical. However, the diagnostic image quality is improved, due to newly implemented hardware components, such as updated read-out electronics, and software algorithms that are not reflected in this overview. In addition to the improved image quality, the new sensor and USB 3 interface allow for an enhanced low-dose optimized dynamic range and accelerated data processing.

The Schick intraoral sensor cable technology is backed by years of leading experience and offers outstanding durability (4-wire design, kink resistant, reinforced). The ability to exchange the cable ensures no loss in productivity if unexpected damage occurs. For example, if a chair rolls on the cable or someone mistakenly shuts it in a drawer with force, there is the potential that the cable could get damaged. For these cases, it is good to be prepared and the exchangeable cable will ensure that you are fully supported and can continuing working with minimal delay.

Bending imaging plates can distort images and jeopardize the reproducibility of the image quality - plate manufacturers specifically state that plates should not be bent. Intraoral sensors are not as susceptible to scratches or distortion of the image, offer quick X-ray capture and are overall much more durable, offering the ultimate intraoral imaging experience.

Dentsply Sirona’s AimRight Grip and AimRight Adhesive positioning systems allow for a hygienic, comfortable and accurate imaging experience and can be purchased through your local dealer.

AimRight Adhesive provides maximum comfort and convenience with its single-use tabs, ensuring optimum hygiene and ease of use due to its straightforward color-coded arms and ring design which can be used with any size sensor or phosphor plate.

AimRight Grip provides an easy-to-use autoclavable option, facilitating simple assembly and disassembly in between patients with its straightforward, color-coded arms and ring design.

The USB interface comes with a 6 ft or 9 ft USB cable.


Our Schick 33 sensors come with a choice of 3 ft, 6 ft or 9 ft sensor cables to suit every operatory configuration and allow for optimum movement and flexibility.

The requirements for the imaging system are based on the Sidexis 4 software.
